About the Chronicle

The Frousin News Chronicle is a small, cozy newspaper built for one group of lifelong friends — the frousins. Instead of scattering life updates across group chats and social feeds that vanish the moment you scroll past them, everything here is typeset into a weekly edition that arrives on a fixed schedule and is kept forever in the archive. Every Wednesday evening a new edition goes to press: one story runs as the front-page headline, the rest of the week's submissions fill the columns beneath it, and past editions stay browsable so nothing is ever lost.

What the app does

Members write articles, music reviews, travel diaries and life updates in a rich-text editor, embedding photos, audio, Spotify tracks and videos directly into the page. Posts can be built from reusable layout templates the group designs together, filed into shared or personal sections, and signed off with a personal sign-off block. Alongside the writing there is a shared year-long calendar for birthdays, trips, film-and-book club nights and listening parties, quizzes and questionnaires with results gathered for the whole group, threaded comments with GIFs and photos, and a favorites shelf for the articles you want to keep close.

Who it is for

It is for a private circle of eight friends and family who wanted a slower, warmer place to keep up with each other. Anyone can read the Chronicle, but writing, commenting and editing belong to the frousins themselves.

Who builds it

The Chronicle is made and maintained by the frousins, with the archive, editions and member accounts looked after by the group's own editor-administrators. It is a hobby paper — no ads, no algorithms, no metrics. Just the eight of us, printed weekly.
